Minority Outreach Coordinator

The Family Place Utah is seeking applicants for a full-time minority outreach coordinator (30-40 hours per week) to join our Advancement Team. The Minority Outreach Coordinator is a key team member in building and continuing a trusting relationship with Latinx and other minority populations in Rich, Franklin, and Cache Counties.

The Family Place Utah is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization striving to achieve its mission of Strengthening Families and Protecting Children in Cache and Rich Counties through therapy, education, and 24-hour Kid’s Place care and shelter services.

Duties Synopsis

This position is responsible for participating in community activities and events in an effort to represent and work with the Latinx Community, such as parades, event booths, information tables, etc. Works with all departments within The Family Place to ensure our marketing and informational materials are accessible in Spanish and English, and to provide access to free mental health training and services, therapy, education courses, and access to respite and emergency child-care at the Kid’s Place. The Minority Outreach Coordinator is also responsible for representing the organization in coalitions and meetings alongside other businesses to support individuals and families by providing resources and referrals.

Qualifications

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  2. Proactive as an organizer, leader, and delegator
  3. Detail-oriented and project management/organization skills
  4. Leadership and time management skills
  5. Evenings and Saturday availability required
  6. Fluent Spanish speaking
  7. CPR and First Aid Certification (may be obtained after hire)
  8. Food Handler’s Permit (may be obtained after hire)
  9. Annual Background Investigation
