The Family Place is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization striving to achieve its mission of Strengthening Families and Protecting Children in Cache and Rich Counties through therapy, education, and 24-hour Kid’s Place care and shelter services. There are three locations in Cache Valley: Logan, Smithfield, and Hyrum.

The Family Place Utah is seeking a full-time receptionist. The position reports to the Head Receptionist and may be called on to assist the Executive and Associate Directors, Executive Assistant, Department Heads, and other staff. Pay rate is $13-$14/hour.

Duties Synopsis

Responsible for covering all aspects of the front desk and accompanying office area, including receiving phone calls, greeting and assisting clients, accepting donations, assisting in outreach efforts, etc. The receptionist is expected to present a positive first impression for clients, to always be pleasant, and to show empathy to clients. The receptionist is organized and efficient, takes the initiative in keeping the lobby and front desk area clean, and assists the administrative team as needed.

The receptionist is welcoming, helpful, kind, understands trauma and practices trauma informed care communicating 1) with staff, and 2) when assisting clients calling in or dropping in inquiring about, or receiving, The Family Place services.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  2. Loyal, dependable, honest, compassionate, responsible, and has great communication skills.
  3. Protects and maintains confidences and confidentiality of restricted or proprietary client and business information.
  4. Good judgement and professional demeanor in difficult or stressful business responsibilities, situations, and interpersonal communications.
  5. Computer literate, highly skilled in use of word processing and spread sheet software.
  6. CPR and First Aid (Adult, Child and Infant) certified (may be obtained after hire).
  7. Have a Food Handler’s permit (may be obtained after hire).
  8. Able to pass an annual Background Criminal Investigation (BCI).
