Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification

You may know what to do when someone needs CPR or First Aid, but do you also know how to help someone experiencing a panic attack, having suicidal thoughts, or struggling with depression?

The Mental Health First Aid program’s goal is to provide education, outreach events, and promotional efforts to increase awareness in the community, while reducing the stigma surrounding mental health at the same time.

Mental Health First Aid is a FREE course you can take to become a certified Mental Health First Aider in just one day. This class is to help young people (Youth Mental Health First Aid). These course is offered virtually. As you take this course, you will learn how to recognize that someone is struggling, and specific skills for how to help, including the ALGEE action plan.   • Assess for risk for suicide or harm; Approach and Assist
  • Listen non-judgmentally

  • Encourage appropriate professional help
  • Encourage self help and other support strategies
