Invisible Conditions

Invisible Condition Alert Program

If you feel you may have a mental health condition that may interfere with your ability to communicate with a law enforcement officer when needed, you may request that we complete an invisible condition form and submit it to the Driver License Division. This voluntary program allows a symbol or “sticker” to be placed on your driver license or identification card indicating that you have a non-visible condition that may interfere with your ability to communicate with a law enforcement officer. The Invisible Condition Alert program may apply to individuals receiving therapy services who have a diagnosis that meets the criteria for an invisible condition. The following are diagnoses that may be considered invisible conditions:
·       Communication impediment
·       Hearing loss
·       Autism spectrum disorder
·       Drug allergy
·       Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
·       PTSD
·       Schizophrenia
·       Epilepsy
·       Developmental Disability
·       Down syndrome
·       Diabetes
·       Heart Condition
·       Other conditions if they may interfere with a person’s ability to communicate with a law enforcement officer
If you wish to be considered for the Invisible Condition Alert program, please ask your therapist to complete the invisible condition form and submit it to the Driver License Division.
