Victim Advocate
BS/BA
Michelle Hyde was born in Logan, grew up in West Jordan, and returned to Cache Valley for junior high and high school. She's from a large family and loves spending time with all of her extended relatives, whether camping (and eating the great food) or hanging around talking and playing games (while eating the awesome food). Michelle attended Snow College for a year, then switched to Utah State University, where she was originally majoring in Criminal Justice. When she attended a presentation on adoption and the services utilized, she knew she wanted to help people more directly, and changed her school path to Social Work. Michelle has been with The Family Place since 2014. She started as a social work intern, helping in our wonderful Kid's Place and Educational classes for children, families, and parents. She was then hired on, before graduation, as the therapy assistant, helping clients get connected with our therapy services, groups, and workshops. Since then, she has also enjoyed helping our wonderful clients and community as the Volunteer Coordinator, helping with service projects, our Christmas sponsorship program, and our fun family events; Community Liaison, spreading awareness of our mission and helping create relationships with other community organizations; and now as our first Victim Advocate. Michelle loves working with people to get connected to the services and resources that will help them heal from trauma and/or strengthen their relationships with others, whether that's utilizing services we offer or those out in the community. Michelle has loved telling everyone about The Family Place and now her two young children get excited to tell everyone about The Family Place, too!
